Hi! I’m Rou. I’m an award winning and internationally published photographer + educator shooting primarily in North Jersey and surrounding areas. I love to capture authentic moments, perfectly imperfect families, motherhood, love, and really anyone else who is willing to let down their guard with me. What you should know:
I don’t want everyone to look at the camera and say cheese. You will certainly walk away with a few beautiful photos where everyone is looking at the camera, but that is not my goal. I prefer to capture you more authentically. I prefer to focus on connection, emotion, details and feeling.
I will direct you to an extent and provoke engagement among your family with various prompts and subtle guidance. But for the most part I want your family to be themselves. I don’t expect kids to always cooperate, in fact I get the best photos when they are acting wild and silly and true to themselves. I like the unpredictable and welcome the chaos. That is real and beautiful. I will make this experience as simple as possible and alleviate all your stress. I am here to uncomplicate photo shoots for you and make them not only painless but FUN.
I am a mother of 3 myself, so I get it. I get how stressful getting photos of your family can be. I get how important the photos are to you. I get how crazy it can get to get a whole family to cooperate. I got you, don’t worry.
I like to think of myself as a hybrid because while my own heart beats for the candid moments, I still make sure to capture some traditional portraits during each shoot so that you will walk away with both authentic lifestyle and candid moments AND some smiling at the camera shots. It’s the best of both worlds.
What You Can Expect

Whether your toddler needs to run wild or your newborn needs a break to nurse, we roll with it. No pressure. No stress. This goes for the adults too. If there is someone uneasy about the shoot, we will make it fun and as pain free as possible.

About Me
I’m a mom of 3 learning more and more that time moves too quickly and sadly our memories fade. I wish I had more candid authentic captures of my kids growing up. Back then I focused on perfection in photos. These days I focus on authenticity and emotion. I’m a NJ family photographer based in Bergen County. Family photoshoots, maternity photoshoots, newborn photoshoots, branding photoshoots, and boudoir photoshoots are among the main types of shooting I do.
